Job Description

Role Overview

Odysseo, the pioneer oceanarium within the Mascarene area, is actively recruiting for a Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will carry out and support various repair operations and upkeep tasks across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the upkeep of refrigeration, ventilation, air conditioning, and heating installations.
  • Execute electrical repairs, routine examinations, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks.
  • Evaluate quality standards concerning completed and ongoing projects.
  • Identify and track issues associated with Life Support Systems apparatus.
  • Supervise and support external suppliers and contractors working on the premises.
  • Offer general maintenance and repair support across all internal departments as assigned.
  • Maintain buildings, office furnishings, restroom facilities, and outdoor grounds in optimal working order.

Candidate Requirements

  • National Certificate Level 3 qualification, preferably featuring NTC 3 Electrical in single or three-phase systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC and SCADA technologies.
  • At least 2 to 3 years of background working in a comparable role.
  • Foundational understanding of HVAC setups.
  • Capacity to operate during irregular schedules.
  • Possesses an organized, collaborative, and energetic working style.
  • Familiarity with safety and health guidelines and protocols.
  • Practical understanding of industrial appliances, devices, and instruments.
  • Strong time management and troubleshooting capabilities.
